AIT BOU ICHAOUEN N° 189ABI
A densely patterned Ait Bou Ichaouen rug, circa 1970s, from the eastern High Atlas (north of Talsint) with a lively pattern in a muted color palette. The intricate composition is framed by traditional sawtooth edges and finished with striped kilim bands on both ends. An additional feature is the subtle color gradation in the background adding depth to the slightly faded purple field. The local design repertoire in this region often draws on classic motifs of Jebel Amour carpets from Algeria.
